Senior Data Engineer – Remote (Phoenix, AZ)

American Express is hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a remote Full‐Time position. Compensation ranges from $20–$30 per hour. The role allows working from home up to three days per week.

Qualifications

• Four‐year degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field.
• Minimum five (5) years of continuous experience in data set organization.

Experience Requirements

• At least one year of experience in each of the following areas:
• Creating and tuning relational database systems (RDMS).
• Improving and maintaining OLTP and OLAP frameworks.
• Transforming complex data structures into actionable information plans.
• Applying lightweight procedures.
• Supporting massively parallel processing (MPP) frameworks.
• Working with large-scale data platforms such as Apache Hadoop, Hive, and distributed file systems.
• Performing data engineering tasks such as detailing, process enhancement, data profiling, data quality, data security, ETL handling, data visualization, IBM DB2, Kafka, Linux, MemSQL, MySQL, Netezza, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, Python, diagram planning, SQL tuning, and Sqoop.
