[Remote] IBM Senior Consultant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Anglepoint is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and enthusiastic IBM licensing professional. In this role, you'll be the local IBM subject matter expert, providing your expertise and passion to collaborate effectively with both our clients and sales team, while taking ownership of end-to-end service delivery engagements.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform software asset management, software license, and other reviews for Anglepoint’s clients to ensure compliance with IBM licenses, agreements, contractual terms, and general licensing policies
  • Review and analyze client IBM license agreements, pricing, deployments, consumption, contracts, and amendments
  • Perform software deployment versus licensing entitlement reconciliations for our clients to identify over- and under-licensing by Product. Perform gap analysis of licenses owned vs. current usage and report trending
  • Lead projects from start to end with minimum oversight from management
  • Assist clients with contract negotiation, audits and licensing procurement decisions
  • Always put the client first and take initiative to solve any issues that may arise
  • Prepare all client deliverables such as calculations and reports. Draft and propose improvements to clients
  • Support sales with new regional business opportunities and cross-sell and up-sell efforts with existing clients

Skills

  • Subject Matter Expert in IBM licensing with 4+ years of experience and a strong understanding of IBM's product stack, product licensing, ELA/ESSO/ULA agreements, and license management best practices
  • Familiar with IBM Cloud Paks bundles and ILS (IBM License Services)
  • Expertise in IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), including deployment, configuration, audit readiness, and sub-capacity compliance, with the ability to interpret ILMT outputs and resolve data gaps
  • Experienced creating and presenting Effective License Positions (ELPs); experience with IBM contract terms, amendments, and negotiation
  • Experienced using SAM tools for IBM license reconciliation (BigFix, ILMT, ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, USU, etc.) as well as the ability to manually reconcile data if needed
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills to handle multiple clients simultaneously
  • Able and willing to travel both domestically and internationally, typically less than 10% a year
  • Knowledge of IBM Mainframe licensing (z/OS, CICS, Db2, MQ, etc.), including MLC pricing, SCRT reporting, and optimization strategies across complex mainframe environments
  • Familiarity with Software Asset Management (SAM) & IT Asset Management (ITAM) standards or frameworks (e.g. ISO 19770-X)
  • Familiarity with various IT management/governance frameworks such as ITIL, MOF, COBIT, etc
  • Any of the following certifications are highly regarded: CISA; CISM; CISSP; CIA; CPA; CFE; CCNA; CCNP; ITILv3; MCP; MCSE; CITAM; PMP; CSAM, VCP
